Good morning tooters. A warm night again here & 13c when I got up to a very drizzly day & I’m staying home & staying in. Today it’s getting up to 18c & I picked up 10 feijoas this morning which means that the new dehydrator will get its first use today. Other jobs need attending to first including my sourdough bread which needs pre-prep & going into its banneton basket for an overnight rest before early morning baking tomorrow.
I keep thinking of the disgusting budget reply speech by the coalition leader & what he wants to do to non citizens, permanent residents with welfare & knowing this is also PH’s playbook too & it’s ok for people to say it’ll never happen here, but they said that in the US as well. We’re all fine - until we aren’t! I’m an NZ citizen, my kids are NZ citizens, we’ve been here 33 years. There are so many reasons why we didn’t get Aussie citizenship. I started the paperwork a number of times & then gave up - it’s hard & expensive - you muck it up & the money is wasted & you have to start again. My kids aren’t on welfare, but I get the aged pension. Anyway, that’s my head space today 😏.
