She has used it to promote books and documentaries, conspiracy theories about her partner's death (see e.g.
https://x.com/officialmcafee/status/1845412057815887911), anti-Tax (https://x.com/officialmcafee/status/1854572573490897221) and pro-Trump views, and cryptocurrency on many occasions.In life, John McAfee was indicted for fraud in connection to a cryptocurrency project (https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/john-david-mcafee-and-executive-adviser-his-cryptocurrency-team-indicted-manhattan).
This is being exploited by fake accounts with similar names (e.g. officialmcarfee) posting links to malicious websites or fake Telegram channels.
