Garden For Wildlife via @wellingboroughecogroup
Gardening for wildlife is probably the easiest way to garden, and is possibly the best thing that you can do for animals. It’s also something that we can all do in our gardens, and if you have one, in our allotments too.
Excerpt: "Making our gardens wildlife friendly doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to leave them to grow into wild jungles. Every space, whether it’s a huge estate or a busy family garden, can give a home to nature.
"There are lots of simple things we can do to help the animals we share a space with, from making sure that they have access to different habitats, to nurturing well stocked feeding grounds for them. With a little imagination, it’s easy to create a recipe in your garden that works for wildlife.
"Imagine that your garden is a hotel and that it has to offer:
- A friendly welcome for all creatures.
- A pool
- A Nectar Bar open all year round
- A Restaurant where all diets are catered for
- Is open to non residents
- Accommodates short breaks and long stay
- There’s no booking required."To create your garden hotel, the traditional recipe for gardening for wildlife needs a few more ingredients. The essentials to bear in mind are the same essentials that we all need; somewhere to live and something to eat and drink; but the secret to success is to consider what needs wildlife has and how to fulfill them."

#WellingboroughUK - Great British #SpringClean
TOWN CENTRE – SATURDAY 28th MARCH, 10-12"Wellingborough Town Council are once again joining #WellingboroughEcoGroup and #WellieWombles on our biggest litter pick of the year!
On the last Saturday of every month, Wellingborough Eco Group normally carries out a two hour tidy up with Wellie Wombles and numerous volunteers. We are returning to where we held this special litter pick last year.
Do join us and Wellingborough Town Council for The Great British Spring Clean! This year it takes place on Saturday 28th March and we are litter picking the town centre!
We will set up a recycling station on Market Street from 9:30 to litter pick between 10am-12 midday. We have donated litter picking equipment, so everything is provided. North Northants Council will take away the litter we pick.
Castello Lounge are hopefully supporting us again with refreshments during and afterwards, do join in with friends old and new, bring your family. Everyone is welcome, see you at the Great British Spring Clean!"

Show your love for your favourite tree on #LoveYourTreeDay!
"Trees have so many benefits, they provide us with oxygen to breathe, home for wildlife, and much more. Following recent events on #TheWalks in #Wellingborough, and the success of the Save Our Trees campaign, we think that our trees deserve to be celebrated. We would like everyone to chose their favourite tree and decorate it for May, and this starts with Love Your Tree Day on the 1st!"
