#scifi #sciencefiction #asimov #books #bookstodon #book #read #reading #nowreadingI've already read the Robot Series and so I started the Foundation Series given that this one is quite famous and praised often.
Psychohistory, predicting the behavior of billions of people far into the future mathematically, is an interesting concept. We still can't seem to do it even a week ahead but I suppose using social media to tell everyone what to think (as TV media and news and the censorship and control of historical narratives in general have sometimes been used) could make people more predictable.
Having emperors and kings and basically feudalism or colonial empire as the only systems of government in the far future is a sad assumption. "We will have anarchy or we will have tyranny," comes to mind.
