Reposting so I can find it easily:

So I'm going to revise the outline to make sure that there's more support and love towards all the female characters instead. It's fiction, it's a dystopian world -- and to write against the horror is more radical.

I reread the outline for #fullofgrace and realized that, not only does this story contain primarily female/women characters, the plot pits them against each other.
-
Managed to write my way out of a scene. Finally seeing most of the shape of this story -- which is, it is a woman's story, at its core.
-
Reviving this thread because I'm forging on to continue writing #fullofgrace

#LeatherboundHands is a novel-length #lotr fic featuring #Eomer and #Lothiriel right after the War of the Ring. Lothiriel is Steward of Dol Amroth in her father's stead, and she receives a missive -- from the King of Rohan.
The fic also thinks through and builds on the idea of mass migration, local displacement after the political and violent upheaval that sweeps across Middle Earth.

#WritersCoffeeClub 27/9. What's the strangest research you've done for your writing?
Last night, as i was writing fanfiction (#LeatherboundHands) (#LotR, #Eomer #Lothiriel, #AO3) I was researching Old English words for the Sea in the feminine. Fun! but it was also past midnight.

Currently writing #FullofGrace set in Manila, and Rizal, Philippines. And trying to grit my teeth past this chapter. :(

Nothing violent happened in that film, but it was so effective, and so incredibly moving. #pastlivesmovie
-
It's a film that is all of our stories, with commonplace grief and mundane joy and the course of a life, all laid bare without embellishment, and especially without eliding our tragedies. It's a film that asks, tenderly and with beautiful and beautifully curated moments - - how does each choice shape our life, and the life of others? How are we tethered together, and what does this ask of us? #pastlivesmovie

#pastlivesmovie was so beautifully scored, I woke up this morning and began listening to Christopher Bear and Daniel Rossen's OST. The film is so clear - - transparent glass - - about loss, and about choices.
