The story is ~2500 pages, 5 vols. The 2 movies based on it are ~6 hrs. Most of the book has to be slashed while keeping the story line intact. Use of time is paramount. This thread focuses on the latter

I have happy news to share — Black River, my third novel, debuted on the Fiction Top Ten list in India, just a month after its launch!
Thrilled to find space between George Saunders and Amish. It means a lot to have this response from readers around the country, to a novel that's about the aftermath of a murder in the quiet town of Teetarpur, and also about grief, friendship, and how to survive our times.
Black River is out in the UK and the US in mid-2023.
