Another shot from Sunday afternoon, in the dene behind Halton Castle, near the hound kennels. Catkins, presumably a hazel tree? 📷

Sewingshields trig point from this morning... trying not to look cold!! 🤣 It was just fingers (mainly thumbs) that were the problem, and this could be related to a combo of strong/cold winds and Pacer-Poles? Fabulous route though, from Housesteads to Sewingshields, looping up around Haughton Common, and joining the Pennine Way back to the Wall. Beyond Housesteads, we only met farmers and sheepdogs all day! 😅

I suppose I can't exactly claim this photo is much different to my last photo, but it 'IS' a different tree. 🤣📷

Yesterday afternoon's boxing day walk became a bit of a race against sunset! This is with my current default setup: Sony A7cII and a Viltrox 20mm prime fitted with a 1/8th black pro-mist filter. I find the filter very subtle most of the time, but here you can definitely see light spilling around the tree.📷

Fence on Hadrian's Wall, designed to deter barbaric invaders from walking along the wall?
The path does take you along the top of the wall for several hundred metres here, but either end of the designated section is blocked - presumably to protect more fragile sections of the wall. 📷

Back on the Pilgrim's Way... the last convenient Wednesday tide pattern for a while. I checked, of course!! 😂

Can I still call this 'SilentSunday' if there's a slight buzz and my GPS watch throws a wobbly? 😂📷

East of Corbridge, on the path to Riding Mill. I had to turn back soon after this photo, as the trail was all broken up and it had become a pain to navigate between brambles. The signage I eventually found (behind a wall and facing the wrong direction!) says the path is closed due to river bank erosion - so there!! 🤣

It's been a long time living in the North East to have never visited Corbridge! Just a brief wander today - I walked down from Aydon Castle to the river. #Northumberland #RiverTyne #Photography

I'd planned to process this in colour. There was a light mist and the sky had an almost tobacco colour where the sun was breaking through. But a test in monochrome changed my mind! This is from a bridleway above #Corbridge in the Tyne Valley. I'd walked down from Aydon Castle. An afternoon wander with no particular plan. 😀 #Photography #BlackandWhitePhotography #BlackandWhite #Northumberland

I'm curious if there is some sort of sane reason why the Roman Temple of Mithras has it's alter decorated with a cow, two tangerines, and a small log?! 🤔 #HadriansWall #Hiking #Temple #Mithras

Tonight will be the first outing for my new pet... Moritz. 😎 #Climbing #IndoorClimbing #8BPlus #Moritz

Light lunch of scrambled eggs and hash browns. It's an almost unbelievably good combination... I really wish someone had told me about it sooner!! 😂👌 (Added a shallot and about 1cm of a red chilli, thinly sliced, into the potato.) #Food #ScrambledEggs #HashBrowns
