Went for a drive on Wednesday, 15th July, and spotted this fine guy. Couldn’t identify him at first, but eventually asked someone who knew someone, who identified him as a Reeves’ pheasant. Photo’ doesn’t do him justice.
#Northumberland is the gift that keeps on giving, whether coast or countryside. Went to #Grants in #Corbridge for sustenance first. Always delicious. We were near #Hexham when we saw the bird. Daughter just managed to get a shot before he flew off.

East of Corbridge, on the path to Riding Mill. I had to turn back soon after this photo, as the trail was all broken up and it had become a pain to navigate between brambles. The signage I eventually found (behind a wall and facing the wrong direction!) says the path is closed due to river bank erosion - so there!! 🤣

I'd planned to process this in colour. There was a light mist and the sky had an almost tobacco colour where the sun was breaking through. But a test in monochrome changed my mind! This is from a bridleway above #Corbridge in the Tyne Valley. I'd walked down from Aydon Castle. An afternoon wander with no particular plan. 😀 #Photography #BlackandWhitePhotography #BlackandWhite #Northumberland
