A #GelPrint from my “Stick-In-The-Eye” period (I kept painting and drawing the same motif for months but really had no idea what it was all about). I was experimenting with #painting #AcrylicPaint onto the #GelPlate and then #printing it.

Ariely's been back twice now and every statement he makes is funnier than that previous one:
"So the reality is that data doesn't just sit in our mind as much as stories do. It's almost like the *glue* that takes all of the data. And even more important is stories have more emotion that data doesn't.
"And emotions get people to do all kinds of things, good and bad. And if you think about the people who invested in her with very little data, it's about emotional appeal, and having trust, and believing the story, being moved by this, and being able to tell themselves a story."
You don't say...
Oh god, now we have Kissinger talking about the all-day Board meetings,
"I've said to [Elizabeth] on several occasions, these Board meetings, this is a human rights violation"
He's certainly the expert on that
A journalist at Fortune who explains to Gibney why he called Kissinger for his take on Holmes prefaces it with,
"I don't trust Kissinger's knowledge on medical <pause> or Cambodia"

Watching _The Inventor: Out For Blood In Silicon Valley_,, the Alex Gibney doc about Theranos
Holy shit. It opens with Dan Fucking Ariely explaining how you need to "understand the journey" and how "if you look at [Elizabeth Holmes] from the beginning, it would be a cautionary tale about all of us"
Uh, no Dan. Not all of us

I hope a bunch of Mastodonians are making time to see _You Can See Everything_ this weekend
It's been ~48 hours since I saw the opening day screening and I really need to participate in a 60+ comments thread about it
If you haven't seen it yet, try to avoid spoilers/reviews. Watching the trailer is fine, but knowing as little as possible is definitely the way to go with this doc. [And I'm someone who normally finds review embargoes ridiculous]
