Kudos to @calgarytransit tonight.

En route home from work I had the pleasure of spotting a gentleman who was in distress: and indecently exposing the public to his genitalia.

City staff responded and were on the train car in 7 minutes and thirty seconds to collect him.

1. I witnessed a man corner another man in a transit shelter, and proceed to raise and smash their elbow across the trapped person's face.

So, I was asked why I take the bus today.

Well, it's three reasons.

1. I'm priced out of car ownership in my province. Since 2019, the price of vehicles in Canada has surged an estimated ~50%. Also, there is about to be no auto insurance caps in Alberta.

I did the math, and if I buy a car in this market, I'd be spending almost as much as I do on rent to be able to drive (insurance plus parking stall plus car payment plus gas plus wear and tear).

Cutting budget corners for a Dani line? No. Spend the money, do it right the first time. Like 'Nenshi's nightmare' airport tunnel.

Facts:
1. Total price for the green line? $6.2 billion
2. Total price for cancelling it? $2.1 billion
3. That's 34% of the total price, folks.

This is UCP irresponsibility. Demand the funding be reinstated, folks. Let's get this built properly.

Missed two Max Yellow buses today.

They were both stuffed to the brim with passengers.

Thankfully, another bus comes after ten minutes. But... it's frustrating seeing the bus just speed on by not once, but twice.

One thing I'm interested in - funding earmarked to lower the cost of weekend family transit passes...which as far as I know we don't have yet. But if we get them, awesome!

Update to earlier post: all went well timing-wise and I was able to speak to #yyccc on transit frequency. Even got home for supper before choir rehearsal.

I'm not expecting drastic changes, but it never hurts to ask for the city you want. Onward! #yyc #yyctransit
