Youth Hacking 4 Freedom is op 1 januari weer van start gegaan met een nieuwe ronde en staat open voor tieners tussen 14 en 18 die momenteel in Europa wonen. Het is een programmeercompetitie georganiseerd door de @fsfe die de kans biedt een eigen project te ontwerpen en ontwikkelen met behulp van Vrije Software en tot 4,096 euro en een reis naar Brussel te winnen. Heute möchten wir Euch die Neuigkeiten zum Start der fünften Runde von Youth Hacking 4 Freedom (#YH4F) mitteilen. Bitte leitet diese #Informationen an #Jugendliche, #Lehrer, #Organisationen, #Jugendclubs und andere Personen in eurem Netzwerk weiter!
Die neue Runde beginnt am 1. Januar 2026.
Die Anmeldung ist ab sofort für Jugendliche zwischen 14 und 18 Jahren möglich, die derzeit in Europa leben.
Youth Hacking 4 Freedom [https://yh4f.org] wird von der #FreeSoftware Foundation Europe organisiert und ist ein Programmierwettbewerb für junge Europäer, der Euch die Möglichkeit bietet, euer eigenes Projekt mit freier Software zu entwerfen und zu entwickeln und bis zu 4.096 Euro sowie eine Reise nach Brüssel zu gewinnen.
Bitte helft uns, diese Nachricht an so viele junge Europäer wie möglich weiterzugeben, um sie auf YH4F aufmerksam zu machen.
Jede, der/die an Youth Hacking 4 Freedom teilnimmt, profitiert von dem #Wettbewerb.
Die TeilnehmerInnen haben die Möglichkeit, unsere Freie-Software-Experten aus der Jury zu treffen u. ihre #Projektideen mit ihnen zu diskutieren. Die Jugendlichen können sich auch untereinander austauschen, andere gleichgesinnte Jugendliche aus Europa treffen und Freundschaften schließen, die ein Leben lang halten können. Der YH4F 2026-Wettbewerb beginnt am 1. Januar 2026 und endet am 30. Juni 2026.TeilnehmerInnen können sich hier für die Eröffnungsveranstaltung und Youth Hacking 4 Freedom 2026 anmelden: https://yh4f.org/registerWährend des gesamten Wettbewerbs begleitet die #FSFE die Jugendlichen durch die sechsmonatige Programmierphase. Wir halten regelmäßige monatliche Treffen ab, in denen wir mit den Teilnehmenden besprechen, wie man Git verwendet, wie man seine Software dokumentiert und viele weitere Themen. Bei Youth Hacking 4 Freedom verbessern die TeilnehmerInnen nicht nur ihre Programmierkenntnisse vom Anfänger- bis zum Fortgeschrittenenniveau, sondern lernen auch, wie man an einem sechsmonatigen #Projekt arbeitet und entwickeln dabei Organisations-, Zeitmanagement- und Projektplanungsfähigkeiten.
Außerdem haben sie die Möglichkeit, kreativ zu sein und etwas zu entwickeln, das ihnen wirklich gefällt, und können stolz darauf sein, ihr eigenes Projekt entwickelt zu haben.#YouthHacking4Freedom in Kürze.
• Die TeilnehmerInnen müssen zum Zeitpunkt des Wettbewerbs (01.01.2026 – 23.10.2026) zwischen 14 und 18 Jahre alt sein.
• Die Teilnahme ist #kostenlos, aber eine Anmeldung ist erforderlich: https://yh4f.org/register• Die Eröffnungsveranstaltung findet am 8. Januar 2026 um 19:30 Uhr (Berliner Zeit) online statt.
• Der Programmierungs- zeitraum läuft vom 1. Januar bis zum 30. Juni 2026.
• Während des Programmierungs- zeitraums können die TeilnehmerInnen jeden ersten Donnerstag im Monat an unseren Online-Treffen und Workshops teilnehmen.
• Die Projekte, die den ersten, zweiten und dritten Platz belegen, erhalten jeweils 4.096 €, 2.048 € und 1.024 €. Außerdem werden drei Sonderpreise in Höhe von jeweils 1.024 € vergeben.
• Jede TeilnehmerIn, die ein Projekt einreicht, erhält außerdem eine Teilnahmebescheinigung.

The was an amazing day. Winners of this year #YH4F award are a the developers of a language learning platform, a custom ROM page, a scroll wheel, a smart watering robot, a hyperbolic rendering engine, and a version control system.
Was so great to spend the time with the winners, their families, jury members, and the great @fsfe team organising the award 🥰
I am confident, that the winners will in future make many more great contributions to our society.
