@VirginiaMurr
Back in the 1950s/60s, there was a term in the Deep South: "#YellowDogDemocrat"... meaning they would "vote for a yellow dog before they'd vote for a #Republican."#Nixon & #JFK changed all that. #Nixon's #SouthernStrategy won over Southern #Racists by appealing to their #racism, while Kennedy won over Republicans by championing The Poor & Middle Class.
I'm a (new) Yellow Dog #Democrat, and apparently, those old #Dixiecrats are now #RapistDictatorFelonRepublicans.

Last night’s debate was a disaster for Biden, so they say. I don’t know, I didn’t watch it.
My engineer friends tell me that component testing can expensive, and a specific test should only be done with a specific goal in mind. The question is, if module x fails the test, what will you do? If the answer is nothing, we just wanted to see if it could do X, then the test isn’t worth the cost. That’s what the debates are like to me.
So, by all accounts, Biden did poorly. So what? Does that make him any less a President? Does that make him less of a President than Trump? Of course not.
I’ve told people that I am going to vote for Biden, even if he falls down at the start of the debate, foams at the mouth, and starts speaking in tongues. I still plan to vote for him.
Is he less electable? That’s a different question, the answer to which is maybe, possibly. But even if he is, there’s nothing I can do about it.
I plan to vote for Biden in November, and if he isn’t on the ballot, I plan to vote for AnybodywhoisntTrump. So there was no need to watch the debates. I had a lawn to mow, and a ball game to watch.

In the late 80s, any time anything went wrong, personal, local, regional, national, or international, my friends and I would opine “It's Reagan's fault.”
I haven't really changed my mind. I thought he was terrible then, and I still think so. Today's #GOP is the pure distillation of the Manichean, theocratic, cruel, greedy world of the “Reagan Revolution” (amplified later by Gingrich).RR is also why I have never supported a #Republican in my ~40 years as a voter.
