I have a theory that social progress is a function of how much stuff can be sold to those at the forefront of change. Being a significant market demographic makes you visible and profitable, which is seen as a good thing. So it's no surprise that the emerging #WomensLib movement should have attracted corporations who wished to sell them drugs.
