  1. I'm considering horticultural vinegar for some stubborn weeds in my yard.

I know to mix it with soap and salt, use a paintbrush for localized applications, and to dress full hazmat.

If anyone has experience with it and has advice, I'd love to learn from you.

*I do not need or want recommendations on other weed management solutions at this time. Or advice/conjecture from people who haven't used vinegar. Don't be a weedy reply guy. Thank you.

  6. Launched in March but I just found it and it’s important. From AGROSUS: AGROSUS Unveils Comprehensive Weed Database to Support Sustainable Agriculture. “AGROSUS project is excited to announce the launch of a groundbreaking weed database, featuring detailed information on 117 weed species, including their herbicide resistance, herbicide treatments, and agroecological management strategies.”

  7. This was my first time trying a cover crop for weed suppression in the garden, and I think it's been a success!

My lazy method was to let some volunteer grass grow tall here over the winter and strim it when it had green seeds, around the end of March. Then I covered it with a tarp until it was time to plant beans in mid May. This spot previously had frequent mullein, herb robert, and grasses.

  8. Sending out a message in a bottle to find any fellow #salad nerds. That container of mixed greens is mizuna and red oakleaf, filled out with some chickweed (Stellaria media) and bittercress (Cardamine hirsuta). I am treating those last two as "volunteers" rather than "weeds" since they are both so full of minerals that they get listed as medicinal. (Also, they are delicious.)
