@Imperor The top two that come to mind are Vattu: https://rice-boy.com/vattu/
^The nice thing about that one is that it's complete, so you don't have to wait for updates (though that can also be fun)
and Vainglorious: https://www.vaingloriouscomic.com/comic/chapter-1-cover
^This one's about dragons!!! And has some wonderfully relatable characters
I have others that I can recommend, too, but don't wanna dump too much on you at once 😁

An #ArtFight2024 attack on @evegwood's character, Silas (https://artfight.net/character/5051757.silas).
I love the description of this character:
"Haunted by speech bubbles but they don’t like to talk."
Also, if you don't already know, Eve writes one of my fav webcomics - definitely worth checking out, esp if you like super powers! The characters and the world are really well developed.

I guess I'm pretty behind the times, but a cousin sent me this short comic from A Lesson Is Learned But The Damage Is Irreversible, "I NAME THEE ANNIHILATOR!" which I thought was pretty great all around:
-
Anybody following 3rd Voice? It's really started heating up over the past few weeks and I'm pumped!

To get the stench off my profile's timeline, since I was talking about military genre in webcomics with @shizamura (as she makes O Sarilho, you go read: https://sarilho.net/) , let me suggest Avania by Tristan Cobb!
I have to catch up, but if you're a fan of the manga/anime Area 88 or like comics similar to the (pre 52) Blackhawks from DC Comics, you'll dig this one. Really snappy writing, the characters are fun and the creator's style is really neat to behold. He puts in a lot of details that I can stay staring at for a few minutes.
It is a furry comic though, so if you don't like furry, might as well avoid it :zerotwoevillaugh:
(Thinking about it, I should probably give it a re-read one of these days so I can properly pitch it better. I read it a while back because the main character looks like one of my favorite characters from DC and even shares the same name XD )
It's also available for print here: https://www.indyplanet.com/avania-press and here: https://www.amazon.com/stores/Tristan-Cobb/author/B09HN2R6PJ?isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true
He's also got a merch store for the comic here: https://avaniapx.square.site/

I've been making my way through the comics on KnifeBeetle and just finished Waxfellow a bit ago.
It's a mystery that keeps the reader in the dark on what exactly is going on (in a good way), unveiling a strange world with different rules, sort of? Hard to explain, but I found it super engaging!
Also, the art's a cool mix of very dark shading and very bold colors. And it's one of the more effective comics I've read at building a believable new culture with interesting styles, architecture, etc.
I like it a lot and am now officially a patron :)

Victoria Smith has got some really lovely minicomics, if you're looking for such a thing :)

#WebcomicRec: ARRHYTHMIA by @tetraluck
An accountant reinstated to enforcement, a merc guarding an aristocrat, and a magical thief find their paths crossing multiple times as mysteries and conspiracies of their society start coming to light.
The dynamics between each set of characters is PHENOMENAL; I'm particularly fond of Air and Vera. Luck also does a great job of conveying information about their world without it /just/ feeling like exposition.

#WebcomicRec: DESERENS by @LoMakesComics!
DESERENS is an action-fantasy webcomic. The story takes place in the distant future and it's set in a world inspired by the Iron Age
Utterly gorgeous art taking place in an incredibly cool setting! While early-on at the time of writing, the action-packed start promises an incredible adventure to come.

#WebcomicRec: KING OF SORTS by @crabbng!
Kings of Sorts is a fantasy/sci-fi comic about the struggle to remain kind in an unkind world.
What I found particularly compelling in this series was the idea of being forced to confront and challenge aspects of yourself, about history, about others you thought to be true.
Each new character I love more than the last, and the designs for the series are UTTERLY adorable!

Really liking the #WebcomicRec hashtag that @CatComixzStudios has been using.
Everyone should drop a #WebcomicRec once in a while!

#WebcomicRec: SOUL TO CALL by @Rommierin
(http://soultocall.com/comic/1)
The world has never been the same since the Fall. Over two thirds of the human population are dead, otherworldly abominations wander the ruins, and the occult runs rampant.
In hopes of salvaging the only scrap of family remaining in her life, aloof courier Avril seeks an Anathema, a creature rumored to have the abilities that she'll need if she wishes to be reunited with her blood.

#WebcomicRec: Everything is Fine by MikeBComics
We follow a couple as this series slowly unravels itself to be a kind of police-state death game... or perhaps that doesn't even scratch the surface of what's happening?
The tension and drama are top notch here. The narrative is tight, always leaving you in terror of the cast's mental state while they try to subtly duck and weave through the dangers present around every corner.

#WebcomicRec: Holly and Macy by Teratoaster
(https://hollymacycomic.tumblr.com/post/190142830864/page-1)
A romance webcomic about a girl who becomes a witch, her best friend who falls in love with her, and her ex-best friend who is mad about it.
This comic follows the shifting relationships and friendships of some mid-00's kids. Always a pleasure to see the growth (and degradation) of these really vivid characters.
Also there are witch shenanigans, just to add a little extra spice. -
#WebcomicRec: Alethia by @sskessa
(https://alethia.kstipetic.com/chapter1.html)
Abandoned by their creators, scattered groups of robots search for purpose in the factory-cities of their desolate world. What new ways of being might such creatures create?
Explore the lives and relationships of various robotic societies. Each one asks pointed questions about life, what drives us, and the meaning we draw out of a world that has no simple answers.
Gorgeous, clever, and emotionally explosive at times.

#WebcomicRec: TRUE COLORS by @trippgustin
(https://www.trueniverse.com/truecolors/prelude.html)
Slice of life comedy/drama about a group of freshmen college students adjusting to their new life at Trueman University - a university funded by one of the biggest tech giants in the world.
This story is primarily focused on the lives and relationships of the main four students, and burgeoning dynamics between them all I found quite compelling!
-
#WebcomicRec: Yellow Brick Ramble by @ peprally!
Witchcraft is an art that only women are capable, yet Tip inspires to be one.
"A witch or a woman," you ask?
Yes.
This comic is a trans reinterpretation of the 2nd Wizard of Oz book!

#WebcomicRec: Ingress Adventuring Co. by @ kayartics!
A professor at a magical academy finds himself slowly getting pulled back into his dangerous old adventuring life, straining his bonds with those that he loves...
A FANTASTIC character piece! Toivo is someone that gets completely wrapped up in his connections and loved ones, and getting to experience that from both sides makes for an enrapturing tale.

#WebcomicRec: Earth 2068 by quark_art!
A teenage boy who gets himself wrapped up in a time-traveling plot to save the world from the tech company controlling what's left of it.
Incredibly vibrant art style with the trans-est cast in comics! Every page is a delight, really brought to life with its great humor. Check it out!

#WebcomicRec: The Messenger by @ MonsterMonger
Kai agrees to join a minor god spirit on a quest to deliver a message. In return, he will be rewarded with a wish; a chance to cure the lingering physical fatigue from an injury that continues to haunt him.
Equal parts pretty and funny! An interesting exploration of unseen physical disability.
-
#WebcomicRec: Funny Farm by @RyanSmith and his team!
Funny, heartfelt, AND features artwork that is both incredibly appealing AND clever.
I'm particularly impressed by some of the panel structures, especially what we're seeing the current arc. Gives me lots of ideas for stuff to apply in my own work!
A must-read if you're in looking for a feel-good experience.
-
The sun is falling, but is it truly the end?
This comic has some INCREDIBLE art, as well as one of the most dynamic art styles I've seen in a while.
Also impressed by how quickly I started liking each of the characters!
-
#WebcomicRec: The Space Between by Scarywaves and SquimooDraws!
Do you just need a good fun and funny sci-fi comic in your life?
While not for the kiddies, Space Between is already promising to be an absolute BLAST to read. The energy between the protags is great!
