  1. @h4ckernews looks like prime to me. If we ever see this materialise in a form close to what's advertised I'll eat my shoe.

  2. Grrr. Docs say "Consider implementing signature validation to verify webhook authenticity." There is no indication of what a signature might look like or how to enable them. Their SDK's don't handle webhooks.

Okay, how TF am I supposed to do that, F-nuts???

  4. Okay. I am seriously considering giving the game of #chess a go. Mainly to exercise my brain.
There’s supposed to be a new game out tomorrow called “Chess Infinity” that looks to have some very nice and fun graphics, so might be a good way to learn. Has anyone seen any more about it?

Seems to have a total black hole surrounding it. No reviews. Only official video posts. No price listed anywhere.
    Could it be #vapourware ?

  5. If you were designing a taxi from scratch, you’d use sliding doors to take up the least space. If you were perpetrating a stock pumping scam where you repurpose an already (over)designed with “cool” dihedral doors “compact” “inexpensive” entry model electric car, by taking out the steering wheel and claiming your non-functional autonomous driving tech was going to drive it, you’d reveal the #Tesla taxi. #Vapourware

  6. Bionic Duckweed is a term coined by Stian Westlake to describe a particular kind of malign #vapourware.

"Bionic duckweed can be thought of as sort of #unobtainium that renders #investment in present-day #technologies pointless. Don’t invest in what can be done today, because once bionic duckweed is invented it'll all be obsolete."

  7. I'm interested in working in #development full-time again - but there are reasons I left. I was forced to work on projects for despots like Trump, Martha Stewart, and IBM. I often had to work with terrifyingly outdated and poorly conceived architectures. With few exceptions, there was very little room for creativity, research, and TRUE development, let alone an ethical release cycle.

Is there not somewhere that has a strict rule against selling #vapourware?!

I'm willing to log all the hours behind the screen. I just need it to *mean* something. I will very much be looking for a #nonprofit or #notForProfit, who are interested in real problem solving, real customer experience, real software, and real creative input.

I have a weird and overlapping skillset passing through hardware & software (from the apple 2 up), micro electronics, microcontrollers, audio engineering, circuit design, musical instruments, theatre, amateur/broadcast radio, sailing and on... Why would I wanna waste all that at big blue?

I'm a master at memorizing massive complex systems, with lightning fast troubleshooting skills, honed over years of debugging in production, or finding faults during a live 56 channel musical - I'm not ever again wasting that on marshalling objects in java with xslt. Life is too short.

I wanna work on products that when people use 'em they say: "was this shit written by an anarchist wizard?!" because it actually just does all the stuff they want to do, in a straight forward and well thought-out way.

Thank you for coming to my rant. Please take a gift bag on your way out as you deposit any refuse in the designated bins. Thank you.

  8. @kosebamse not any more, homepage appears to be down too. I guess the person who set up the project got too busy with their new job and had to abandon it? Or it was #vapourware all along ...
