Israël estime qu'elle n'a pas à apporter de preuves puisqu'elle est une démocratie alliée, que sa parole suffit et qu'exiger d'elle qu'elle prouve ses allégations relève de l'acharnement anti-israélien.

The House of Representatives voted on Friday to defund the United Nations agency that aids Palestinians through next year — even as 1.1 million people in Gaza face threats of famine in coming months — on the basis of flimsy allegations by Israel against a tiny minority of the agency’s staff that have yet to be proven.
Just last week, the European Union’s top humanitarian aid official said he has still not seen evidence from Israel to back its accusations — nearly two months after they were made.

In this context, the cuts in funding for the UNRWA fit a wider pattern of the politicization of aid to refugees, particularly affecting 1.7 million Palestinian refugees in Gaza along with an additional 400,000 Palestinians without refugee status, many of whom benefit from the UNRWA’s infrastructure.

While the entire population of the Gaza Strip is on the brink of starvation and famine, several countries decided to freeze their funds to The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which over two million Palestinians in and outside of Gaza depend on for their survival. The decision by the 14 Western countries and close allies of Israel only exacerbates the already dire situation caused by Israel’s war of extermination against the enclave.
