#DigitalIndependenceDay as a matter of fact, I am using European and Australian software for most productivity tasks:
- #UlyssesApp for writing and note taking.
- #DXO PhotoLabs for photo editing.
- #Sitely Website Builder for personal and community websites.
- #AeonTimeline for tracking major events.
- #PDiffExpress for comparing PDF documents.
I have chosen these apps for their quality and ease of use. The fact that they are made in Europe and Australia and may say something!

@comradevlast Yeah, I'm still on #WordPress because jumping to something else is a lot of work...but I hate feeling like I'm keeping a petulant toddler in business. So I self-host. I hope to move to a static site generator when I figure out how get the publishing process working with #Ulyssesapp.

AND, #Ghost is working on #ActivityPub integration. So there's that.

I'm really surprised there isn't more wide-spread support for textbundles. With all the #wordpress refugees that are emerging, with more likely to come, a static site generator that catered to folks using Ulysses and other editors that can save in textbundle format would be a great alternative.

I think there is a promising path using #Ulyssesapp, external folders, and #textpack. If the SSG can take posts as textpacks then the entire post library could live in Ulysses, with iCloud or dropbox to syncing back to my desktop, which would handle the site generation and publish tasks. #blogging #Hugo #jekyll #pelican #11ty

@ulyssesapp Would love to see more direct integration options with #Git and GitHub. Increasingly managing #markdown content for projects including #hugo etc and #ulyssesapp is my favorite place to do markdown content creation and editing. Until then will use with git CLI or app.

Hrm, #Ulysses only on my Mac has decided to not be able to find my App Store subscription, so it's stuck in read-only mode. iPad and iPhone are fine. This happening to anyone else?

I've restarted, checked to make sure I'm signed into the right accounts, etc.

Other apps this morning also asked me to verify my App Store account on Mac (Paste and Moom), so maybe something's going on with the store?

@steven_ovadia Hey, Steven! #Tana is web-based. It's odd for me -- a guy who hollers a lot about local-first storage, trust no one security, and the future-proof nature of markdown files to be using Tana, but the magic you mention is both real and intoxicating. I'm doing things in Tana I've not been able to achieve elsewhere. So: worth considering! (I still use #ObsidianMD and #UlyssesApp for a lot of long-form work.)
