#ThursDeath this week is 2019 LP 'At the Tomb of Sanity' by APOSTATE from Preston, UK.

Apostate have an LP from 2022, but I like this 2019 one more. Growly, chunky, riffy, dynamic, OSDM style- you can really hear the bass, too. Has a brief acoustic interlude. And even some quality screams among the growls. Masterful drums. Decent guitar solos. It's a ripping record. No frills or bullshit on this one, just killer death metal. Probably some Cannibal or Morbid Angel in there. Seriously, check the riffage on track 9. Insanely tight, ridiculous shit.

Bonus #ThursDeath as I just discovered these guys and they're incredible.

Easily one of the best death metal EPs I've heard from this year, behold 'Dead Flesh Architect' by Manchester's ACID VAT. I kept looking up from my work because of how badass this is. It RIPS. The drums, the vocals, the guitar work, the songwriting, the dynamics, ALL of it.

Acid Vat is a death metal band to WATCH.
