  1. Mitag & Ragasa

Mitag was a small typhoon that hit Hong Kong about a week ago. The name "Mitag" was suggested by Federated States of Micronesia, meaning "my eyes" in Yapese.

Ragasa is a REALLY STRONG typhoon (categorized as Super Typhoon by Hong Kong Observatory). It's currently wrecking southern China as I am posting this. The name "Ragasa" was suggested by Philippines, meaning "fast, moving". Despite the name, it's actually very slow.

This time around I tried to interpret the names as their countries intended. That's why Mitag has a telescope and Ragasa is running. The more tanned skin tone represents the people of the places where these names originated from.

  2. Wipha (韋帕), Lingling (玲玲) & Podul (楊柳)

    I haven't been #TyphoonPosting for a while so here's 3 of them at once.

Wipha was a July typhoon, while Lingling and Podul are August typhoons. The Chinese name of Podul means willow tree and that's the only meaningful names here. They are all just chilling.

  3. Danas (丹娜絲)

Danas is a typhoon that formed to the east of Hong Kong and is moving northwards. She pretty much pulled away all the clouds so it's very sunny (and hot) here.

  4. Wutip (蝴蝶)

    First #TyphoonPosting of the year!

Wutip formed very close to Hong Kong, within 800km away. She isn't even classified as a "tropical cyclone" because she was not strong enough. She spent most of her lifetime as a "tropical depression".

The Chinese name literally means "butterfly", so that's why she has butterfly wings.

  5. Man-Yi (萬宜)

    I'm officially calling this "Typhoon-Posting"

This typhoon haven't brought that much rain yet, but it hit during a high tide, causing extra rise in water level, and thus, flooding.

Man-Yi is also a reservoir in Hong Kong (萬宜水庫 High Island Reservoir), which is why there are rocks on her head, and a tremendous amount of water.
