"/s" tone indicator should just intuitively stand only for "sarcasm", because it taking less effort than being serious correlates to indicator's length. "ar" part that comprises "/sar" is simply redundant. /ser

why aren't #toneindicators metadata like #contentwarnings? that way when you need them can see them but if you don't need/want them you can hide them and you can add them to your posts regardless

/srs Heya people who use #toneindicators, why do we place these at the backs of sentences? Wouldn’t it make a lot more sense to set these before sentences to set the expected tone of the sentence? Feels odd to me and like I am backtracking through text a bunch when there are tone indicators trying to figure out the tone of bits.

Question about #ToneIndicators for folks. Please boost. :boosts_ok:
Do you know of or use a tone indicator for "affectionate" or "affection"? If so, what is it?
If you don't know what tone indicators are, you should look 'em up because they're rad, but I'm looking for answers from people already familiar.

There are more #ToneIndicators (recently saw a website: https://tonetags.carrd.co/#)
My personally most important one is i/ for irony (not in the list, though.)
BTW, as most posts are not in one "tone," I start with i/: and end with /i to indicate the start/stop position.
So far, people seem to have understood in 99% of cases. 😀

Let me share something I found very useful recently.
https://toneindicators.carrd.co/
To quote from the website:
> Tone indicators are shorthand for words used to convey tone, which the Cambridge Dictionary defines as "a quality in the voice that expresses the speaker's feelings or thoughts".
> [...]
> The intended use of tone indicators is in text, and they are prevalent on social media where miscommunication is rife, and posts and messages are often misinterpreted. -
I wasn't aware of tone tags until tonight. If you're not familiar either, check out https://tonetags.carrd.co/
