I’m a pure engineer and autistic who was raised by those people. It was odd. That type always has books and magazines lying about which talk about how Blacks should have been grateful for slavery. They believe as well that Jesus Christ is coming any day now to put all of the non-Whites in their place.

That seems odd as #Christ, if he existed, was swarthy.

The short version is, it didn’t take. The longer version is colorful, but never mind that.

BonsaiKitten, who Gentoo readers will know, told me in 2012 that indoctrination “just slides off of the folds of your brain”. Patrick, if you see this, thank you for still being present.

My preference in music [if that is where “fundiegelical” enters into it] is #TMBG. It’s common for my type.

I like oddities in general. A decade ago, Victor, a former associate, played a Death Metal version of “Silent Night” for me. That track was a bit much.

It was during this live #TMBG show that I learned “Ana Ng", a song I have heard 999 times (but mostly in the previous century), includes the following lyrics:

And it sticks like a broken record

I have heard it as "human hair" for the past 36 years. Linnell clearly sang "humid air" at the show, and I was like "!!".

And I didn't see the wordplay it sets up before re-listening to the album just yesterday!

Caught the #tmbg show in #Boston last night.

(This is only my second concert ever [#they or otherwise]. The first was also a #Them concert ~1994.)

The kids and I were all surprised that the crowd was bimodally distributed in age. About half over 50 vs half under 30 and E V E R Y O N E knew the lyrics

The MDMRN Twins (11) have their Middle School play beginning tonight. My parents come into town tomorrow to see the play and MDMRN Twin 1's softball game Sunday morning. Also, me and Little MDMRN (17) are going to see They Might Be Giants tonight in concert. I'm driving up and back today for the show.

I’d like to reintroduce myself and introduce my album “A Cufflink-Wearing Guy”.

I write songs and over the past 6 years roughly, I’ve collected 10 from about 100 to be recorded, mixed and mastered. As of today, those 10 songs are available to listen to at bandcamp as the album “A Cufflink-Wearing Guy” (https://alastairleonard.bandcamp.com/album/a-cufflink-wearing-guy)

There are songs about fleeting marketplace romances (Sunflowers), and going in search of your life’s purpose (Desert Rose). There are other songs about taking the easy road and waking up late (Mid-Morning Guy) and the housing crisis in Australia (Yoshino Removals). There are even more songs — about bad haircuts (West Coast Haircut) and the disappearance of the bees (Honey Bee). The title track follows a pair of cufflinks given to me as a young man and their trajectory through the following decades. All the lyrics are up there so you can read along while listening if that’s your preference.

The music is roughly what I’d call indie-pop including jangly guitars numbers and piano ballads but there are forays into country twang, latin percussion, and doof.
