  1. Been now using #thundermail for over a month and I am really glad to see that it is coming along. It has some key features that I think are important for it success. Namely the ability to add ones own domain to it and setting up numerous different emails. I am looking forward to some integrated features to sync filters via sieve settings to be in #thunderbird that will be nice. I will say the lack of filters has actually gotten me to read some emails I tend forget about at times.

That’s precisely what #Thundermail needs, damned! :tb: :devastated:

  13. Thundermail / Thunderbird Pro is US Big Tech @ AWS and Cloudflare. It’s great that there are more email providers out there, but depending on your EU, GDPR, and US CLOUD Act perspective, this might not be a viable option, unfortunately. #thundermail #thunderbird #email #gdpr #privacy

  17. Oof, I'd really like to try out #thundermail, but I just can't justify £55/year for the curiosity.

I'm already paying for #Proton but I would love an email which I can just use without having to install "Proton Bridge" and installing another an extra app on my phone (which doesn't even work well...)

  22. Wanted to call out the excellent work that folk at @thunderbird have done on the webmail client for #thundermail. Sure it’s an early v0.5, but it’s responsive and looks really smart - well done all!

  29. #Thundermail thoughts, anyone? I'm currently using @Tutanota and I'm pretty happy with it and don't have any reason to leave. Thundermail currently doesn't have a web interface, altho they're working on it. Tuta's privacy features seem to be more robust, but TBH I'm not smart enough to know how that all works. I do like the #Thunderbird email client! #OpenSource #Tech tb.pro/en-US/

  34. After more than a year on the waitlist, my Thundermail Early Bird invite finally landed. I subscribed without a second of hesitation and grabbed [email protected] and [email protected] before anyone else could.

Do I need them? Absolutely not. I already run my own three-letter domain, I am on Proton Visionary, Apple One Premier, and a dozen mailboxes I barely open.

But this was never about need. I want @thunderbird to make it. I want at least one piece of email infrastructure left standing that Big Tech cannot swallow. That is worth a subscription without a use case.

FOMO did the clicking. Conviction pays the bill.
