I'm gonna run a game for friend who was disillusioned by the wizards TM property xD
I asked her what kind of tone she'd like and came out with #Escaflowne, not the mecha but the feeling. You must know that Escaflowne is one of my favorite things ever.
I thought of several games, including, of course, #AetherNexus (#TheMechaHack spiritual sequel) but I wanted something that felt closer to the game she came from in order for her to compare what she likes, so I'm going with #IntoTheOdd

The joy of rolling 1 on a 1-in-6 to save exactly the person who needs to be saved, when it's been established that otherwise will 100% would be dead is the best
And today I saw @openhearthrpg just having to take off his glasses, wipe out the sweat and breath with relief as the children were safe

The more I run #TheMechaHack the more I like it
I don't think it's perfect but I think it understands #Mecha as a medium rather than as a genre and that has allowed the groups I've ran it for to find what mecha means for them
Thinking of it as "seasons" this campaign feels so different than the previous one in a way that no system has yielded results for me
I like when #ttrpg systems "converge" and feel consistent across play, and TMH is that mechanically but not in narrative
I like it a lot

Last night I finished my quarterly game of #TheMechaHack. It was so much fun! Unfortunately I had a lot of trouble not just getting a group but reaching quorum each session. For the final month I ran for two people, so I dropped a couple rules so that the game was easier to work with less pilot skills
We played 7 out of 12 sessions planned
Still this game is one I wholeheartedly recommend. It understands #Mecha as medium instead of forcing a genre on you. It's great ride

In the biggest upset to my campaign 2 predictionsthe group has decided we will play #Mausritter
I would have been happy with any of the eight options, but this was unexpected, I was sure the group would go for #TheMechaHack, it's all they've been talking about for a couple of weeks
I think the demo we had last well went well, but it probably scratched the itch for a #mecha game so they decided for this one

I'm secretly rooting for the mecha hack. I really loved reading it and got my head running. Before reading it I was rooting for DCC, which, after this mecha-hack-high has passed probably would be back to my no 1 spot for the new game
The two players that have read my games pitch deck (xD) have mostly landed on DCC and ItO, which I find very funny because it's the maximalist and minimalist approaches
