Radio Free Skaro #1062 – The Daleks Will Stop at Anything
http://traffic.libsyn.com/freyburg/rfs1062.mp3The time has come and the two previously missing but now gloriously present episodes of The Daleks’ Master Plan, namely The Nightmare Begins (Episode 1) and Devil’s Planet (Episode 3), are here to be viewed and reviewed! They appeared not only on the BBC iPlayer but also in full on the US (but not Canadian, feh) Classic Doctor Who Youtube channel, and we have viewed said episodes and have thoughts. But that’s not all we also have an interview with Toby Hadoke, who hosted a screening at Riverside Studios and reflects with Steven on the screening, the episodes, and the overall wonder that is their return!

CW: Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Spoilers (specifically for The Giggle)
I finally finished the 60th yesterday!
I wonder what they're going to do with David Tennant's 14th Doctor going forward. He's got a good ending and he might very well never appear again. Maybe once in a blue moon. Maybe.
But what are they going to do in future inevitably world-ending threats to Earth? Assuming that world-ending threat were to happen in 2023 or later, Tennant's 14 will, pressumably, be on Earth. No way he's going to let humanity die out just because he is, for all intents and purposes, retired.
So I'm just wondering how they're going to, narratively, keep Tennant's 14th away from teaming up with Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor (or with future incarnations of Gatwa's side of the bi-generation) constantly when it comes to Earth issues.

And finally we have #TheGiggle, another thrilling, action-packed tale with a dash of #DoctorWho sillyness. Great episode, absolutely atrocious German accent that made my ears bleed (on purpose, I assume).
And then the regeneration... WTF was that. Mostly I'm just unwilling to let go of Ten & Donna, can I please have a whole season of them? PLEASE?
And then 15 comes along and he's so... charismatic. Noooo, I want 10! Go away you charming, funny, man without pants! I hate how much I like him!

Okay, finished #TheGiggle now and I don’t really get, why Harris uses that accent. The character didn’t have an accent like that in its original appearance, did it?
Otherwise these are a few specials very nice #DoctorWho episodes. Some moments felt a little wonky and I wonder why they left the tenth / fourteenth doctor in the universe, but I guess it’s a good excuse as any to bring him back for the next anniversary or something..

I have an ignorant question for the other #DoctorWho aficionados here. Does anyone know where the big hammer at the end of #TheGiggle came from? I didn’t spot it earlier in the story. Is it from the original #TheCelestialToymaker story? The new Doctor’s dialogue seems to tie it more to the Toymaker than to the Doctor despite it emerging from the old TARDIS. Confused.

Sigh, #TheGiggle was the least favorite of the recent #DoctorWho specials because once again it was nonsensical magic dressed in the thinnest veneer of science that would make people less informed of how technology actually works if they take any of it seriously.

Paradoxalement par rapport au titre de cet épisode : j'ai braillé ma vie à la fin de l'épisode. Je n'ai jamais autant pleuré pour une émission de télévision ou un film de ma vie, c'était tellement une belle fin.
