Maaliskuun ruudut työn alla. Luin JS&MN jälkeen vielä Clarken novellin The Wood at Midwinter joka olikin niin lyhyt että se tuli mentyä läpi yhdeltä istumalta. Molemmat nyt ruutuina, vielä tehtävänä kuukauden kesken jätetyt ennen kuin voin siirtyä huhtikuuhun ja Ancillary Justiceen.

Maaliskuun viimeisenä päivänä luin siis kaksi kirjaa, mitkä olivatkin koko kuukauden anti. Tämä kuu jo paljon normaalimmalla tolalla. 😄

about to embark on my #TemperatureBlanket and have a few questions.
What weight/size yarn and hook did you use?
What stitch did you use?
What are the final dimensions?

I appreciate any insight learned.
I bought DK weight yarn, not sure what hook size i am going to use yet. I also have a few stitches in mind.
My main goal is for it to not be too big/long.

The finished 2023 Temperature Blanket

Overall high temperatures this last year ranged from the mid 100s (~40.6°C) to low 20s (~ -5.6°C).

This was such a satisfying project to finish. And after a test nap, it was a nice warm cozy blanket that didn't make me overheat.

Here's the month of October. Finally cooling down, which is great. That end of month hard drop in temperature was/is kind of rough on my bones but it's a welcome change from dying of overheating constantly.

Going from yellow to completely bypassing both shades of green overnight is wild though.

Here's the month of August. The heat wave was brutal, three consecutive days at 100°F+, topping out at 105°F on the third day. Hopefully September will finally bring in autumn weather.

I finished a six-month temperature blanket (Jan-Jun 2023 Oulu) in crochet linen stitch. Size is roughly 170 cm x 145 cm (1.704 kg). The edges are wavy, but I'm satisfied with the weight, size, and colours. I've got a second one in the works, and hopefully I've learned from my mistakes with the edges. #crochet #TemperatureBlanket #FiberArt

Gathering wool (well #Scheepjes Colour Crafter acrylic) to get started on my #TemperatureBlanket as my contribution to the #AYYKAL23 #AYYKCAL23 #AYYCAL23 I’m going to use the #TriangulumBlanket pattern by Ellie Jones , and edge each triangle with a row or two of grey, before doing half in a colour for the hottest temp and half in a colour for the coldest temp each day. @schmetterlingstraum Natürlich kann man das auch häkeln. Manche machen das sogar mit kleinen Grannysquares. Im Fediverse darf ich das ja gar nicht so laut sagen, aber ich habe die Inspiration von Instagram. Unter #Temperaturdecke oder #temperatureblanket gibt’s viele Anregungen.
