A year long project finally wrapped up. It's a crocheted table runner; each stripe is the high temperature for each day of 2024. Pictured on my couch because the actual table it's meant for is in the backyard and I can't be arsed to go out in the cold to snap photos today lol

October cooled down slightly. Not enough IMO but I'm someone who likes temperatures sitting around the high 50s-low 60s, so take that with some salt.

Highs in September here ranged between 65°F (18.3°C) and 92°F (33.3°C).  I liked that one singular cool day. Give me more pls.

Highs in August here ranged between 71°F (21.7°C) and 102°F (38.9°C). I worked that hot day (outdoor physical job) and it was awful.

Highs in July here ranged between 75°F (23.9°C) and 99°F (37.2°C). I guess the small solace is we didn't breach into hot pink territory but the 30th got close.

Highs in March here ranged between 40°F (4.4°C) and 80°F (26.7°C). I'm still struggling to reconcile hitting 80°F on March 3rd. I'd expect that in maybe late April.

Highs in February here ranged between 33°F (0.6°C) and 78°F (25.6°C). The drop from 74°F to 36°F between the 27th and 28th was mind-boggling. Having to use both the A/C and heater within a 24 hour period is something else.

I told myself I'll try a different scheme for a yearlong project this year but the weather here last month decided to go absolutely wild with the range. So I bowed to it and started a high temperature table runner (last year's blanket was fun but was so yarn intensive lol).

Highs in January here ranged between 0°F (-17.8°C) and 63°F (17.2°C). 🤯

The finished 2023 Temperature Blanket

Overall high temperatures this last year ranged from the mid 100s (~40.6°C) to low 20s (~ -5.6°C).

This was such a satisfying project to finish. And after a test nap, it was a nice warm cozy blanket that didn't make me overheat.

Here's the month of October. Finally cooling down, which is great. That end of month hard drop in temperature was/is kind of rough on my bones but it's a welcome change from dying of overheating constantly.

Going from yellow to completely bypassing both shades of green overnight is wild though.

Here's the month of August. The heat wave was brutal, three consecutive days at 100°F+, topping out at 105°F on the third day. Hopefully September will finally bring in autumn weather.
