Auf Augenhöhe - mit einer männlichen Großen Heidelibelle. Der dunkle Strich im Gesicht verläuft zwischen den Augen und endet dort. Bei der Gemeinen H. hingegen läuft die dunkle Zeichnung noch ein Stück weit an den Augen herab.

Es ist gerade kein Libellenwetter bei uns. Einzig dieses frisch geschlüpfte Weibchen der Großen Heidelibelle habe ich gestern beim Regenrückhaltebecken im Käsbachtal gefunden. Immer wieder schön anzusehen: der magische Glanz der Flügel.

"Ich schaue in die Welt." Ein frisch geschlüpftes Männchen der Großen Heidelibelle schaut sich aus der Deckung des hohen Grases heraus um. Damit beginnt der letzte Abschnitt ihres Lebens als großes Fluginsekt. Die Zeit seit dem Sommer hat sie als Unterwasser-Räuber in einem Regenrückhaltebecken im Wald verbracht.
