  1. "When #Rabbi #EdRosenthal, Founder & CEO of #RepairtheSea, received an unexpected phone call two years ago from #RachelleBurk, he had no idea that the conversation would turn into something much bigger than he could have imagined. Rachelle #Burk, an acclaimed #childrensbook #author and avid scuba diver, asked #Rabbi Ed if he would be interested in a #book for young readers to share his love of the Sea and his desire to protect it that she would write. Having written a number of other #Jewish children’s #books including “She’s a #Mensch! Jewish Women Who Rocked the World” and “Space #Torah: Astronaut Jeffrey Hoffman’s Cosmic #Mitzvah,” Rachelle shared with Rabbi Ed that, as a scuba diver, she had always wanted to write a book about the undersea world. Featuring Rabbi Ed and Repair the Sea’s Reverse #Tashlich program would be the perfect way to accomplish that goal."

  6. tashlich is my very favorite Jewish ritual. the first year I did it, we wrote down what we wanted to be rid of on a piece of paper, and tossed that into the water

this year, the Rabbi gave us each a handful of fish flakes or oats to imbue with our sins, so we could cast them to the sea (or wherever the Mill Creek goes)
