  1. Sydney Grapples with Unmet Transit and Housing Promises

Sydney's transport deserts need new metro lines to help with housing and congestion. Find out which areas are affected and what experts suggest.

  2. It’s crazy to the #sydneymetro is so new but so great. Honestly it shows the fact that we need to build more infrastructure because my biggest issue is that there isn’t enough stations.

Also if the #EasternSuburbsSydney had the metro it would be amazing to get to the beaches.

  3. Some core #urbanism from an unlikely source … 7 News Australia

They've had a slight reputation for "announcing" policies that are not from the government but just from think tanks. But this news report is all good stuff (like the last time, when Parramatta Road was proposed for light rail)

This is completing a "ring road" or circle line of #SydneyMetro … airport to airport! But is one of them grafting onto Metro West?!

    Plus electrifying south of Macarthur!

  4. Another open door incident on Sydney Metro ‘not impossible’, transport minister says dlvr.it/TK0Swf #RailNews #SydneyMetro #NSW #NSWGovernment

  5. A first for my Sydney Metro experience- the train stopped slightly ahead of the designated spots so it rolled back to align to the platform doors. Always wondered how it’d behave in such a case, well now I know.

    (The trains are driverless)

  6. The new #SydneyMetro is outstanding and I just realised one of the greatest things about it on the commute this morning. Complete lack of advertising on the trains and stations. Zip. Nada. No LED screens, billboards, banners etc. I wonder how long we will have this grace period before "commercial imperatives" kick in. And here's one of the plus sized artworks that adorn the stations.

  7. #SydneyMetro 3) reduce the coverage. At the moment it will hit 120° (30%) of the peripheral retina. That going to reach hypersensitivity in a lot of affected people. Just black out 90% of it.

  8. #SydneyMetro 2) reduce thr frequency of the stripes by infilling the black stipes with white, so that the stipes are wider.

  9. #SydneyMetro i would suggest the following fixes:

    1) reduce the contrast of the stripes. Other stations on the line use sandstone inspired colours. Switching to a two-tone sandstone would reduce the ampiltude of the visual stimulus.

  10. #SydneyMetro and specifically an understanding of how Gibsonian flow can go wrong

  11. Ok that’s done! I’m impressed by the architecture, I’m spatially disoriented, I’m awed by velocity and that’s all anyone can really expect of a metro #SydneyMetro

  12. Victoria Cross Station, it’s the North Shore but modernist. Good. Nice #SydneyMetro

  13. Martin Place Station and it feels wrong for it not have the three station names in Glorious Seventies. And for the carriage not to smell at some level of human sweat #SydneyMetro

  14. I am now on a train. Hell yeah train. Seats deprioritised, standing is the thing. Did we mention acceleration? Cop this shit #SydneyMetro
