Mavis was also included in the #StormNames for this year.
Mavis Hinds worked on all of the earliest computers used by the Met Office helping to prove that computers could be used to produce fast, accurate weather forecasts.

Next storm due: #StormJocelyn, back on the Met Eireann STEM themed names.
Storm Jocelyn is named for astrophysicist Jocelyn Bell Burnell, born in Lurgan, who was responsible for the discovery of pulsars while a radio astronomy graduate student in Cambridge.
