Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is one of those series that gets better as it progresses. The beginning felt very episodic, but by the end, all the loose threads were tied together in a compelling narrative.

One of my favorite episodes of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex was the one in which the Tachikoma develop individual personalities and ponder death. I thought this was basically filler, but it actually mattered in the end.

You ever just stare into nothing thinking about the Concrete Jungle episode of #StandAloneComplex and what it says about military and law enforcement and humanity in general...
I was reminded of it by an OSINT analysis of some war crime videos, and the Welcome To Video episode of Darknet Diaries. Specifically the scene of Batou throwing up on the side of the road after viewing the video evidence. -
Why "Stand-Alone Complex"?
Well, a reason must be that there are various episodes in which the protagonist is not the Team; it's One of the Team. Batou, Aramaki, Tachikoma (many and one) all get special episodes with individual (stand-alone) focus...
And this made it possible for the screenwriters to create great gems and highlight individual, "inner aspects"...
How truly great is the result!
