  1. Every time politicians and media commentators start talking about “serious economic reform”, ordinary Australians somehow end up paying more, working longer, and getting fewer services, while big corporations and wealthy investors walk away with another tax break. Hmmm it’s unusual that “shared sacrifice” nearly always flows in one direction. Australians are told to tighten belts while corporate profits and executive bonuses keep soaring.

  2. #Nationals Party, which as the junior partner in the #Coalition, opposes the #Stage3taxcuts revisions. But, every Nationals electorate will be better off … because they benefit more low- and middle-income earners, and rural electorates have more [of these] earners. #auspol
(Why do rural voters support a party that obviously does NOT have the best interests for their constuents ?)

How the revised tax cuts affect people like you

  3. @Godfrey642

But if it weren't for the last-minute change on #Stage3taxcuts I would have been booing him (in my loungeroom,), and those in the stands would have had good reason to cheer.

  4. Murdoch press latest headline "Anthony Albanese unapologetic" ...
Wtf ? Really ? Are 90% of Australians this stupid ? Come australia, we're not USA, are we ? Sorry for what ? Giving me a tax break ?
    Like most Australians, I don't f@$kin make $200k a year, that mob don't need a tax break ! #auspol #Stage3taxcuts #MurdochRoyalCommission #Thisisnotjournalism

  6. To paraphrase Sussan Ley and explain the Liberal party’s position on the stage 3 tax cuts.

Definitely will support measures to ease cost of living.

Definitely don’t support using tax cuts as a means of easing cost of living pressures.

Definitely will repeal Labor’s version of the Stage 3 tax cuts

  7. On the eve of the 2013 federal election Tony Abbott promised no cuts to education, health, or the ABC and SBS, and no changes to pensions. All were broken and went under the radar thanks to the #vestedInterests in #msm.
Now the media is ramping up a frenzy because of a broken promise to the Australian people. Really ?
But wait, workers earning $135,000 or less are the biggest winners of this "broken promise". Low and middle-income earners, which happen to make up the vast majority of Australians, are set to secure a bigger tax cut with this promise !

  12. We should raise the tax free threshold to the poverty line. Because people below the poverty line shouldn't pay tax.

The rich absolutely should be paying the lion's share of tax. We shouldn't be removing tax brackets, rather make them more and more aggressive for those who make egregious sums such as Qantas, Australia Post and NBN Co executives.

  13. The tax cuts, passed by the Morrison government in mid-2019 with Labor support after it failed to split the bill, begin in July 2024.

They remove the $120,000 to $180,000 tax bracket, increase the top tax bracket to $200,000 and reduce the marginal rate of tax for everyone earning between $45,000 and $200,000 to 30%.

So basically, a tax cut for the wealthy (politicians)

32 billion dollars a year of our tax money into pockets of those who least need it..

  14. Corruption/ lobbyists/pork barrelling, political donations, transparency, Supporting our LGBTQI people, closing refugee o/s death camps and looking after refugees, removing religion from politics and schools, equal pay and equity for women, raising JobSeeker, fixing aged care, mining and the environment failures, gas expansion, Gonski failings, #robodebt (urgent action required to charge politicians and public service), defence/AUKUS obscene waste, #Stage3taxcuts, failure to act on price gouging, punishment of whistleblowers, poor marketing of #Yes campaign, and on and on.
    A constant disappointment.
    So many failures.
This is not what I understood to be #AustralianLabor values.

  15. Adam Bandt is correct, #Labor is the dog whose tail is still wagged by the #LNP. #Stage3taxcuts have to go. The need for trained people in all areas should mean #FreeTAFE #FreeEd #BulkBilling #FreeChildCare #Insiders #AusPol
