Es ist so schade, dass die Telefon-#spammer und -#phisher i.d.R. nicht rückrufbare, gefälschte Nummern verwenden.
Sonst könnte ich die via FritzBox - statt sie nur auf einen AB mit "Kein Anschluss unter dieser Nummer" zu schicken - miteinander verbinden und sich gegenseitig betrügen lassen,

So last night on some social platform I've been a member of for over one year, I got an unsolicited friend request out of the blue.

What to do?

I decided to sleep on it. At first, I was thinking of talking to the user, but I had seen their activity. They had joined the site a few days earlier, and frankly it looked like they were spamming friend requests. I mean, they even managed to befriend a known catfish. That shows some great judgment right there.

(By "known" I mean known to me. The guy has a picture of some highly expensive sports car in his pics, and you can easily find it online, plastered all over the net. I reported him to the platform a few days ago. That guy likes to pass as a multimillionaire.)

They also had no pictures, no bio, etc. They could have moreover been in on the catfish scam.

So I clicked ignore on the friend request. They are still free to talk, but I don't want to open a communication with them, if they seem to pick their friends from the bargain bin.

@jeff @ericdano @mikeblake @carnage4life Something I've long suspected keeps hashtag traffic down: I'm perfectly happy for anyone to search my posts, but I don't want to look like a #selfpromoting #hashtagging #SEO #spammer in all my #mastodon posts. Also, if you use #inlinehashtags, #hashtagslookbad and #hashtagsarenotreadable.

Basically, I feel like there are more drawbacks from including hashtags (people that follow me thinking my posts are spammy and/or low quality) than including them (making my posts [barely] searchable).

Dopo l'#invasione di #bot di oggi, che pare abbiamo risolto (solo per ora, ma chissà se è finita per davvero...), scommetto che un sacco di gente avrà maturato un ulteriore #odio per i bot.
