This is what you get leaving your circular blank* from the trunk with the endgrain on the ground.
Left it like that at Freds place in july for next haul. It came 25 days later last friday. Now on the lathe.
Some do this on purpose. As you can see from these photos; profound effects.
*Circular blank: Same lenght as the diameter of the log, yelding two blanks, this large one ended in 3 bowls each.
