Picked up a chipped PSX on eBay for like $100 that was claimed to be region-free and run burned CDRs. It works like a charm. I played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night ($$) and Gradius Gaiden (Japan region only). Both are beautiful 2D, pixel-art oriented games. Running that into a Sony Trinitron with the SVideo cable looks amazing. It's peak pixel-art gaming that looks frankly better than modern pixel-art games, rendered beautifully via cathode ray.
