  1. Kash Patel defends FBI hiring policy on applicants who have engaged in bestiality
    theguardian.com/us-news/2026/s

Who is Kash Patel making this rule-change for? I get the awful impression he has a friend who he's aware is into bestiality, and he's doing them a favour to help them land a nepo-job.

This announcement indicates some things are seriously out-of-whack for Kash Patel:
    - His methods of "networking" show no regard for the standard of candidates for jobs of national security.
    - Kash Patel referred to people who do bestiality as victims. Animals are the victims. He's doing DARVO.
    - Kash Patel is conflating bestiality and sex work. It should be obvious to him that bestiality is nothing like sex work.
Sex work is a type of work.
Bestiality is a type of animal abuse.
    Sex work isn't a crime.
    Bestiality is a crime.
People who do sex work deserve all the usual worker's rights.
People who do bestiality deserve moral condemnation and jail-time.

  18. > Happy Sex Workers Pride Day.

    > Sex Worker Pride, celebrated globally each year on September 14, emerged from the global sex workers' rights movement as an intentional space for celebration, self-determination, and community empowerment. While other key dates on the sex work advocacy calendar focus heavily on protest and mourning—such as International Sex Workers' Rights Day on March 3 or the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers on December 17—Sex Worker Pride was created specifically to affirm agency, occupational pride, and diversity across the global community.

    > The movement traces its ideological roots to the 1970s, notably the 1975 occupation of Saint-Nizier Church in Lyon, France, where sex workers revolted against police harassment and inhumane working conditions. That historic strike catalyzed modern sex worker organizing and laid the groundwork for viewing sex work through the lens of human rights and labor. Over the following decades, international solidarity solidified. In 2001, activists marching at the 49th Venice Biennale famously carried red umbrellas to bring visibility to their struggle—a moment that established the red umbrella as the universal symbol of safety, resistance, and solidarity.

    > Sex Worker Pride Day was officially launched in 2019 by the Global Network of Sex Work Projects - NSWP. The initiative was designed to complement existing political mobilizations by carving out a positive, celebratory platform. The day honors sex workers in all their diversity—centering the intersecting experiences of migrant workers, cisgender and transgender workers, and gender-nonconforming individuals.

    > Today, Sex Worker Pride highlights the resilience of workers who continue to navigate criminalization, stigma, and economic barriers. Beyond demanding full labor rights and decriminalization, the day provides a vital counter-narrative to societal shame, asserting that sex workers deserve dignity, autonomy, and equality in every sphere of life.

Did you know that condoms are regularly used as evidence to prove that sex work has occurred? Condoms have also been seized from migrant sex workers in Ireland.
