Again late in writing up my lecture notes, but: for me, the highlight of @fabiociotti's talk in January in Leipzig was his first analogy for understanding LLMs: maybe they are something like Lotman's semiosphere, some sort of collective intellect representing all culture, with all its inherent contradictions and non-alignments.

@coppelia #Lotman is a very good patron saint 😍 I'm supposed to be a trained Lotmanian, if anything 😂 (because #TartuSemiotics) although now I tend to venture into @semiotics metatheory, philosophy of science and sociology of knowledge a lot. But I did use Lotman's #semiosphere as a #processual model for making sense of #organisational #culture for my MA thesis and it revealed very interesting aspects.
