Remember when...

Plastic boards surround us.
I can no longer see faces
nor know what you're saying,
disconnected from the world,
starved of affection.
Muffled voices behind tape lines,
tape on the floor,
signs on the door.

Sambuca scent unwelcomes us,
the next event, cancelled.
Windows open on the bus,
they make such a fuss.
Graphs on the telly,
contactless take-out in my belly.
To jab or not to jab
that is the question.
