"Mr. #Sandman" (or "Mister Sandman") is a popular song written by Pat Ballard and published in 1954. It was first recorded in May of that year by Vaughn #Monroe and his #orchestra and later that year by #TheChordettes and #theFourAces. The song's lyrics convey a request to "Mr. #Sandman" to "bring me a #dream" – the traditional association of the #folkloric figure (but in this context the meaning of dream is more akin to ' #dreamboat').

Confieso que le he dado muchas vueltas a si debería seguir con mi proyecto de leerme todo Sandman ahora que hemos descubierto todos los cadáveres que Gaiman tenía en el armario. Tanto que estado algo más de un año sin avanzar hasta que al final, como ya tenía todos los tomos comprados desde hace mucho tiempo y mi dinero ya está en su bolsillo, decidí retomar la tarea. Pero ahora me es imposible leerlo de la misma manera. Lo que antes era bello ahora me parece impostado. Seguiré leyendo la saga hasta terminarla porque patata, pero ya nunca la veré con los mismos ojos.

Sandman S02 (2025)
Lo bueno: Sigue siendo muy fiel al cómic, muy conseguida visualmente, buenísimas interpretaciones por los actores principales.
Lo malo: Neil Gaiman es un deshecho humano.
Me alegro que hayan terminado la historia en sólo dos temporadas. Han quitado muchas cosas secundarias de los 10 tomos originales pero han dejado el núcleo intacto y eso es todo un logro.

A friend of mine and I have been cowatching season 2 of #Sandman, and we got to a really great scene with the Fates, and my friend mentioned how good the oldest Fate, Atropos, had been in that scene.
“Yeah,” I said. “She was really terrific, definitely not Atropos of nothing.”
She was pretty disgusted with me, but I laughed so fricken hard. Gods, I love a good pun. (I also loved that one. 😁)

Against my better judgement, I've been continuing to watch #Sandman.
There's lots to criticize but I keep coming back to the ruby he losses in episode 1, and then promptly forgets about. There's a short subplot where we see someone else with it, but Dream himself never follows up on it.
And now, every conflict has me yelling at the screen:
"Sure would be nice to have a magical wish-fulfilling ruby right about now huh?!"

Wednesday night is our "there's feck all on the TV" night so we've finally finished off The Sandman series and it's such a shame to see it end, although good that by my understanding this was due to wanting to keep it true to the source material and not expand it out beyond the original writing too much. So many clever themes and characters.
Next binge-watch we start might be next Wednesday, and might be the second season of Wednesday.
