  1. "Mr. #Sandman" (or "Mister Sandman") is a popular song written by Pat Ballard and published in 1954. It was first recorded in May of that year by Vaughn #Monroe and his #orchestra and later that year by #TheChordettes and #theFourAces. The song's lyrics convey a request to "Mr. #Sandman" to "bring me a #dream" – the traditional association of the #folkloric figure (but in this context the meaning of dream is more akin to ' #dreamboat').

  16. An odd thing...back in grad school days I used @zotero to manage readings. Never since until now, in "retirement". It was good then, great now. Guess I'm a researcher again. #folkloric #GeographicLensOnStories #GLOS is coming together nicely, albeit leisurely

  18. Ooh just saw "The Cursed" on Prime; i think it's on Netflix as Nocebo.

Was actually well-done: Philippine #folkloric #horror and respectably good storytelling! #horrormovie

  19. If you ever need to find your way in the dark and don’t have a torch there may be a solution!

Use a Hand of Glory - an item of #folkloric legend!

To create it, the hand of a criminal executed on a gibbet had to be cut. It was then pickled in urine for 13 days, dried in the sun, then nailed to an oak tree for 3 days & nights!

The Hand supposedly would hold candles and in some cases it was said the fingers would glow! As a result it was popular amongst thieves!
