An important note about Wayland.
Here on the SBC I saw immedatley that wayland was used instead of X.org.
One program I installed (a screen shotter) failed because wayland does not support a lot of parameters / features the program uses.However everything else just works smoothly, Wayland is out of the way here on the Pie
The system load of wayland is also quite light when playing the small vid

So looks like I'm going to get myself a #RaspberryPie after all, seems like the easiest way to make OctoPrint work with my Q1Pro. Gonna learn how to use linux, but I'm buying the pie specifically to make Octoprint work and for no other reason in the slightest. Any #Blind #linux users know of a good distro to go for that's not too hard to set up? #3DPrinting

Given recent events I decided against baking a #RaspberryPie today.
Instead I settled for a #QuinceTart instead.
That'll teach 'em (perhaps)!
NB: It was very tasty, despite being slightly charred at the top.

Gestern Abend bin ich noch mal los zur Packstation und habe meinen neu erstandenen #RaspberryPie 4 abgeholt. Das hätte ich evtl sein lassen sollen, die Nacht wurde lang! 😆
Ich habe auf dem #Yunohost installiert, was tatsächlich erstaunlich einfach war! Der hängt jetzt direkt am Kabel an meiner #FritzBox. Ich habe den dann jetzt sehr großen Vorteil, dass der DNS meines Domainproviders eine Domain als #DynamicIP hosten und die FritzBox die aktuelle IP dazu liefern kann. So habe ich jetzt meinen Yunohost auf #Raspi hinter einen echten Domain. Das ist schon mal cool, aber da ging es dann ja erst los! 😀
Mit Yunohost kann man tatsächlich -zig vorkonfigurierte Services installieren und konfigurieren. Ich habe da tatsächlich innerhalb weniger Minuten eine #Hubzilla und eine #Friendica Instanz installiert. Das geht mit ganz wenigen Nachfragen von Yunohost und jeweils mit eigener Domain. Wie einfach das ist, hat mich wirklich überrascht!
Man sollte wohl trotzdem ein wenig Grundwissen haben, aber theoretisch kann mit etwas Einarbeitung wirklich jeder seine #Fediverse Instance auf einem Raspi zu Hause haben. Also dann wirklich komplett selbst gehostet. Beeindruckend!
Ich glaube, ich muss doch mal wieder etwas bloggen, um diese Experimente zu dokumentieren. Vielleicht ziehe ich ja auch mein Blog, das ich sowieso nur testweise habe, auf meinen Yunohost/Raspi. #Wordpress ist da auch per Knopfdruck installiert. 😊 -
