Almost everyone will explicitly or implicitly tell you maybe you’re wrong about your parent(s) or being too harsh on them or how hard THEY’ve had it… but truly it’s bc most people didn’t go through those certain extremely crazy things you did (you know those things you kinda brushed off but didn’t know how fucked up they were until you started telling ppl and they all look like 😱🤯🫣😧) #raisedbynarcissists

After speaking to a friend today have to wonder how much of my parents' abuse could be justified by the pressures of being immigrants handling differences in Asian and western cultures and how much is just indefensible borderline sadistic behaviour

I just had one of the most important counseling sessions since I started therapy earlier this year. I came to realize that my relationship with my narcissist mom is not and has never been normal, and neither was almost anything about my childhood. I had to be the adult in the room as long as I could remember, and be her parent. I'm 46 years old and she's 65. I don't have to do that anymore and I can't. It's not healthy. It's time to set some boundaries! 😁

I’m literally bursting at the seams. But i can’t vent. I can’t complain. I can’t direct or explain. Because i will then be told i’m "to sensitive" and that i’m "overreacting". Getting ready for vacation with family is the second worst thing i do. The worst is holidays like xmas and birthdays.
