At 1st I thought that fishing for insights in my digital ocean would require #morecores, well a lot of cpu cores, then I thought what if I can avoid loading/unloading data from disk so #moreram, then it turns out that nvme in #raid0 are slow. Thus balanced approach worked best… I ran out of ram :<

Apparently the #RAID0 array was fine, but a #RAID1 array is a big no-no.

So now I have to figure out how to make 2x2TB hard drives work the way I need them to.

Wusstet ihr, dass #btrfs bei einem #raid1 mit drei unterschiedlich großen Festplatten automatisch eine Art #raid0 über die beiden kleineren macht, um die Kapazität der größeren Ausnutzen zu können?

Im Prinzip ein cooles Feature... außer man will bewusst eine größere dritte Festplatte hinzufügen, weil das Endziel die Migration der Daten auf ZWEI größere Platten ist :-) Ging am Ende auch, hat aber länger gedauert und überflüssige Balancing-Operationen erfordert.

So, can y'all help me raise some funds to get this for MajorNetwork?

also it seems as if #dosdude1 doesn't just shove a single chip on the board, but likely has them configured in #RAID0 or #RAID01 thus increasing speed drastically with parallel IOPS, which works great given #IDE is a parallell interface...
