The dedicated team at Emmabuntüs are looking for volunteers to test out (a) the accessibility of their free and open source Linux distribution and (b) the English translation of their accessibility resources.
Don't know what Emmabuntüs is? They have developed a Linux operating system that can be used on recycled laptops and PCs to help bridge the digital divide for any individual. They currently have a 64 bit version and will be releasing a 32 bit version in a fortnight for older computers. They have paid significant attention to the accessibility of their operating system including features that will be beneficial to users with a vision impairment or blindness.
Think you know someone that could help out with testing their accessibility features? All you need is a laptop or PC that can no longer support the latest commercially available operating system (and I'm including OSX and Windows), a free download of their OS and the time and interest to explore what Emmabuntüs can offer.
I'm actively using this OS in my volunteer role at a local Repair Cafe and look forward to seeing what accessibility features they have baked in. Are you interested also?
