CW: Non urgent mutual aid, queerphobia
So... hi. I've asked around, and decided this would be a good place it do it, and what tags I should use.
I live in a very rural region of the United States, with homophobic and transphobic "Christian" parents. Throughout my time on the internet (to which my access has been recently greatly limited, its a miracle I have a fedi account) I've made some awesome friends, who I see like family.
In about one year from now, me and them all plan to meet up in Sweden for a month long hang out. Two of them live in Sweden, the other two in the EU. Me, however, as I mention, I live in the states. And even more than just a trip together, I plan to stay after the month is over, staying with my best friend for a bit until I get a job or into Uni there. This is... really my best shot as a future, where I can be myself.
But plane tickets are expensive. And I'll need resources to get started. My friends might have a hard time getting their too. About six months ago, we made a GoFundMe. So far, it has received no donations. Any money at all will be greatly appreciated. I have a year left but... until I get and maintain a job, I have no way to save money for it. And if you don't feel like don't giving it to me, but you have the cash, consider donating to someone else who's posted on the #mutualaid or #mutualaidrequest tag. While trying to figure out what to do, I... ran into some people who defiently have it worse than me.
