Going through my email backlog I saw this quote by ultrarunner David Roche and thought it was too good not to share #inspiration #qod
The place that love starts is yourself. We have access to our own darkest thoughts and feelings, the same things most people are carrying. But it's so easy to see the worst in ourselves as a result, since our darkness is apparent to us in a way that we might not see in others (or in a way that we are more compassionate about in others). Imagine you're a friend talking to yourself as much as you can. Instead of "hi" or "good morning" or "you worthless piece of shit," try to find as much "you rock" and "you're awesome" or at least "you're doing damn well given everything" as you can, directed inward. Because you are amazing and you deserve love specifically because you are imperfect and moving forward anyway like a courageous boss.

Had a REALLY good run of Quest of Dungeons going last night (a run I'd been saving my progress on, I'd been working on it over a couple days), and it was maybe one of my best runs ever. Felt really good. Level 12 warrior, down several levels in the dungeon, and then boom. Death. Outta nowhere.
I know QoD is probably not considered a true roguelike, so I'll say.. 'ah, turn-based dungeon crawling!' 🤣
