When someone did a serious essay on antis in an academic setting, a big mocking point antis had can be boiled down to "lmaooo imagine bringing this to school". Whenever someone makes an educated, detailed deconstruction on their behavior, antis criticize the gall for "taking it seriously".
It reflects internalized shame they have for fandom, implying that it should be inherently embarrassing. More importantly, it's to dodge responsibility for their actions by downplaying the credibility of such works so that people dont get the chance to recognize their cultish behavior.

CW: Antis thinking they're "Profic/Proship" [Rant]
It’s unfortunate when I see someone claim to be “Proship” but then they end up being an anti -_-
I just gotta wonder....how TF do you label yourself something you’re not?? I mean, I think it’s obvious that if you think harassing others over fictional media is a bad thing that you’re Proship/Profic (or people that just say “anti-harassment”, but it literally means the same thing in context).
