  1. I saw an April Fools post on LinkedIn concerning Sega making their logo 3% more blue. It reminded me about an incident with the box art for the game Projectyle I developed back in 1990 and which was published by Electronic Arts. The idea was to use fluorescent colors for the box art, and for the disk label. These were supposed to be really eye-popping so that they would catch your eye on retail shelves and so on. You can probably guess what happened next, and if not let’s just say that the budget for these fancy colors was reviewed and the decision made to use regular inks. Which is why the back of the box and the disk label are, just, bright pink.

  16. I've posted the latest update on my blog site, this time covering my company Eldritch The Cat in its Mk II version during the 1989/1990 period.

This post mostly discusses a few games that were not, including an encounter with Rare, an exploration into the fantasy world of Michael Moorcock, and other tales.

  21. This always makes me chuckle. Squeezing every possible inch out of the Amiga blitter meant that when blits were in progress, the 68000 got zero cycles. So, no need to blitwait, right? Well, that was not very future-proof, now was it? Extract from WHDLOAD release notes for my Amiga game Projectyle. #Amiga #Blitter #AllTheMinterms #Projectyle

  26. It is 1989, Mark Wilding and I have started a new game development company, Eldritch The Cat!

Can we make the transition from 8-bit to 16-bit game development, make an original, multi-directional, smooth-scrolling game for the Atari ST and Amiga, and get it published by Electronic Arts?

    Let's see. :)
