The Lurie administration wants to slash #PotreroYard affordable housing because they "just can't find the money."
Our mayor is a billionaire. We have the third most billionaires living here of any city in the world. We can't accept these excuses.

In which they spring it on us that they’re canceling about 350 units of affordable housing. I’m not pleased. #potreroYard #sfpol

More details on #PotreroYard housing. I believe they said Tuesday the earliest phase 1 housing could open for occupancy was 2029, so this is still relatively long term

The planned rebuilding of #PotreroYard has been revised to remove any capacity increase for 60' trolleybuses, used on busy lines like 14/14R. Potrero is now anticipated to be the only yard with trolleybuses, as Presidio Yard will now become battery electric (BEB) only.
This seems to indicate a move away from trolleybuses toward BEBs, which are much less energy efficient, and hold fewer passengers relative to their size.

Lots of misleading news about #PotreroYard housing. Funding's not yet identified for phase 2, with the bulk of the housing, but that doesn't mean it's canceled.
Also Roland Li suggested a false connection in the Chron: "Earlier concepts envisioned as many as 900 homes on the 4.4 acre site at 2500 Mariposa St., but market-rate apartments were later dropped from that plan." Those were 2 unrelated decisions. 1/

Disappointing setback for #PotreroYard housing — not submitting for AHSC* grant this year.

And I’ll miss this view: it’s what made me stop and appreciate #PotreroYard in the first place. I’ll try to come by more often to enjoy and photograph it while it lasts: dozens of sleeping Muni buses, with @SutroTower watching over them, day and night.
The end.

But for those who may not be familiar, #sfmta is planning to tear down and rebuild #PotreroYard, which is trolley bus maintenance and parking facility that occupies a whole block on the border of #PotreroHill and the #MissionDistrict.
The facility was built in 1915, and expanded several times, but it is grossly outdated and prevents Muni from using it to its full potential.

I’m by no means an expert on this topic, just a #trolleybus fan but I want to share what I saw and learned, so if I’m wrong about something, please let me know and I will correct the error.
